My joggers are ripe blueberries.
My shirt is ice cold ice cream.
My sweater is a big black licorice stick
My socks are made from milky whipped cream.
My shoes are black beans.
With little apple bows.
I wish that i could eat them all,
but then I'd have no clothes!

Give A Boy A Gun
Todd Strasser
Published 2000 Book rating 7 out of 10
Published 2000 Book rating 7 out of 10
Gary and Brendan were bullied by high school footballers for what seemed like an eternity. Gary and Brendan started off just like a lot of us. Content and... normal. However, as the bullying got worse, Brendan and Gary became more violent. They eventually got to the point where they wanted to... kill.
This book is written in a way as if an interviewer was interviewing the victims. There are little paragraphs written by different people. Some of the people interviewed got many paragraphs, such as the bullies or Gary and Brendan's best friends. I enjoyed reading this book, however, knowing that these kinds of acts are happening really is kind of terrifying. Todd Strasser wrote this book to spread awareness about school shootings. He mentions how the shooters tend to be students of that school who are being constantly drowned out by people.

Tunnels of Time
A Moose Jaw Adventure Mary Harelkin Bishop Book Rating: 6 out of 10
As Andrea Talbot and her family visit the town of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, they go to a restaurant and hear about tunnels running through Moose Jaw like veins. They enter the tunnels one by one and Andrea is last. She eventually gets her turn however, instead of slowly walking in the tunnels, she runs, turns a corner, and smacks right into a mirror. What happens next confused Andrea, because as she lifted her eyelids, she saw a boy wearing clothes from the 1920's and he was speaking with a strange accent. She was in the past. Precisely the 1920's, there is a man with a nickname of Ol'Scarface. Will Andrea survive in the past aiding a bunch of gangsters, or will she return to the safety of the future? This book is great for people who love stories with cliffhangers. That kind of includes me :)

Villan Description- Mr. Lee Edward Fodi
As the stranger removed his human like mask that covered him from the eyes of the people, a wrinkly, pale face was exposed to the cold, damp, air. One eye seemed to be dead, blood seemed to be leaking through the demons' left eye. His hair was pale, just like is scaly snake-like skin. He wore a black cloak that covered him from his neck to his feet, however, this cloak seemed to be made out of steel, yet it waved like a flag as he creeped toward his enormous throne, where he would sit and snarl at his henchmen as if they were useless puppets. His eyes were like pistols, glancing at his menacing eyes would send you in in a nightmare where you would see yourself be boiled alive in his victims blood.

Zlata's Diary by: Zlata Filipovic
Zlata Filipovic is a young grade five girl who lives in Sarajevo. She has a diary called Mimmy and she writes to the diary about two times per week. At first she is a normal girl living a normal childhood life, then all of a sudden, her life went from content, to worried. Bombs and grenades fly over their head every once and a while, and Zlata and her loving family hear gunfire over the hills everyday. She writes about her daily life and what it's like being a child living in a war zone. This book is very interesting in many ways, you learn about what it's like to have no electricity or water and other accessories. I would recommend this book to people who are not experienced readers because it used very primary language, after all, a grade five child did write it.
Characters: Zlata, Cici(cat), Cicko(also a animal), Malik(father), Alica(mother), Melica, Braco and Seka, Kemo and Alma, Bobars, Emina and Samra, Irena, Ivanka, Mirna, Miso, Mladjo, Neda and Nedo, Srdjan and Bokica. Book(more like diary) rating: 5/10 |

False Face!
By Welwyn Wilton Katz
6/10 book rating This book is an action packed, mysterious novel starring Laney McIntyre and Tom Walsh who is half Indian. This book is located in London, Ontario. Laney McIntire finds a mask nearby her house, however, who knew what this mask would do to her? Would it change her life completely? Or would it just be just a beautiful decoration in her room? Laney has a older sister and parents who are divorced. Tom Walsh is a young boy same aged as Laney and he has a mother who is White and an Indian father who is dead. I would recommend this book for people who are about eleven or twelve and people who know a bit about the Indians in Canada so they could catch on more easily. It can be confusing in a few parts however if you understand what is going on, then you should enjoy reading this book. |

I Am a Greek God
Who wouldn't want to be in a higher rank? I am a low rank, Greek God. I want to be in a higher rank. The only way I can achieve that is by impressing Lord Zeus. So I would have to show my divine powers to impress him. You may be asking, “what powers would a low rank God possess?”. Well, powers I possess include invincibility. If you want to be a God, I’d recommend being invincible because if you displease a God such as Ares, then there is a high possibility of you seeing a spear in your chest. I am also a God that can travel through time. This power would surely impress all the other Gods. I would be known as the God of Outcomes, since I can travel through the future and see what would happen. I could also go back in time and maybe I could prevent a war from happening. I could’ve prevented the Trojans from kidnapping Queen Helen of the Spartans by telling the Spartans about the Trojans, then they would prepare. The last power that I possess would surely make Hercules jealous. Because my third power is extreme strength. If I were to get into a fight, I would have to make sure that I’m strong. Or else I would be defeated and my worshipers would think that I’m a weakling and that I don’t deserve to be a God. These powers would obviously impress Zeus, and I would quickly become a major God. The entire world would be know my name, and I might have a planet named after me too. I intend to do well impressing him. Wish me luck!
